Patient Placement Coordinator

Position Summary The Patient Placement Coordinator is a frontline role responsible for managing patient admissions, transfers, and bed capacity within a hospital setting. They act as the primary contact for families and providers seeking information about hospital services, utilizing their nursing expertise and hospital knowledge to facilitate patient flow and care coordination. Key duties include managing all transfer requests, coordinating with medical staff for patient acceptance, collecting and verifying patient data, and ensuring efficient communication across departments. This role requires a valid RN license and a minimum of 2-3 years of Emergency Room experience to handle complex medical cases effectively. The coordinator collaborates with nursing and administrative teams to optimize patient throughput, manage bed availability, and uphold quality service standards. They also participate in process improvement initiatives, track barriers to patient flow, and promote family-centered care with excellent communication and customer service skills.
