Patient Placement Coordinator
About the Role
As our Patient Placement Coordinator, you will track patient placement needs and availability, expertly assigning beds across all hospital departments to optimize patient flow. You will coordinate bed assignments based on existing policies, collaborating closely with nursing and medical staff. You will continuously monitor admissions, transfers, and discharges to maximize bed utilization and resolve bottlenecks. Additionally, you will communicate bed changes to all involved departments and maintain accurate automated systems, leveraging your knowledge of medical terminology to facilitate appropriate preliminary bed assignments for discussion with clinical teams.
You will independently determine safe and appropriate patient bed assignments based on patient admission criteria and documented diagnosis. You will prioritize bed placement using age-specific requirements, diagnosis, and condition of the patient. You will ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for admissions of patients as well as internal transfer of patients.
