About the role

The Patient Navigator - Registered Nurse position at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children plays a crucial role in supporting women's cancer patients. The hospital is the only facility of its kind in the state, offering comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for gynecologic cancers.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate the management of service activities for women's cancer patients
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary communication among healthcare providers
  • Provide expert oversight and education to ensure the best patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including GYN oncologists, medical and radiation oncologists, and support services
  • Support patients in navigating the healthcare system and accessing necessary resources
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in nursing or a related field
  • Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS/HCP card
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience in nursing area of specialty, demonstrating abilities for self-management, critical thinking, problem resolution, and proven ability to work with diverse personalities and situations

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing or health related field preferred
  • Certificate in area of specialty within one (1) year of hire preferred
  • Experience as a Patient Navigator or one (1) year case management preferred
