PATIENT MEAL ASSEMBLY (DIETARY)

Job Summary

Tray Line Assistants are responsible for assembling patient trays and assisting in the dish room between meal periods. They also read printed tickets, ensure tray contents match the ticket, assist with cleaning dishes, and communicate with hosts regarding tray delivery.

Responsibilities

• Read printed tickets and ensure corresponding items are on the tray.
• Understand and follow instructions related to diets and allergy information.
• Filling bulk stock items, crates of milk, boxes of condiments, trays of food, and boxes of juice.
• Assisting with cleaning dishes, washing carts, changing chemicals, and putting dishes away between meals.
• Using an iPad to promote/demote trays through the tray monitor program and communicating with hosts when trays need delivered.
• Ensuring quality food and compliance with diets when the checker is not present on the tray line.
• Requires the use of abrasive chemicals and operation of heavy kitchen appliances/machinery.
• Work on their feet for the majority of an 8-hour shift, performing tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, standing, walking, and twisting repetitively.
• Filling a variety of stock ranging in weight from 5lbs to 50lbs.
• Provide a high level of satisfaction as it relates to the presentation and accuracy of patient orders.
• Prepares patient trays, stocks tray line area, and maintains a clean and sanitized work environment.
• Highly visible representative of the Food and Nutrition Department, exhibiting all customer service standards as defined by the Food and Nutrition Department and the Blessing Hospital mission and values.
• Ability to work many hours standing, reaching overhead, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying.
• Works in the dish room during times between meal periods.
• Full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital.
• Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals, and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.

Qualifications

• Required: Interpersonal relationships, effective and respectful verbal communication, cleaning and sanitizing work space.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Completion of Food Safety CBL within 30 days of hire.

Pay

PAY RATE: $15.00 - $20.25 Competitive Benefits BASED ON RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Tray Line Assistants work on their feet for the majority of an 8-hour shift, performing tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, standing, walking, and twisting repetitively throughout their shift.
