Patient Flow Coordinator, Transfer Center, Part Time, 12 Hour PM

Responsibilities

• Initiate online verification and phone contact with insurance carriers and plan administrators to verify patient benefits and secure precertification for all outpatient services.
• Ensure authorization is obtained for all scheduled and non-scheduled high-dollar outpatient procedures.
• Follow up on missing data or problem accounts.
• Document complete and accurate data relating to eligibility, benefits, and precertification information in the appropriate Epic database fields.
• Inform management of trends related to incomplete data, registration issues, etc.
• Effectively organize and prioritize daily worklist tasks.
• Secure all applicable accounts in a timely manner as defined by Due Diligence Standard while maintaining department productivity and quality standards.
• Report improvements, problems, and changes related to insurance verification to department management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1–2 years of equivalent experience completing precertifications/prior authorizations in a hospital setting, medical office setting, Patient Access, or similar environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of equivalent experience completing precertifications/prior authorizations in a hospital setting, medical office setting, Patient Access, or similar environment.
