Patient Financial Services Rep 4

About the role

This is a full-time day-shift position (Monday–Friday) with hybrid eligibility. Candidates must be bilingual in Spanish and eligible to work remotely from the following states: VA, MD, DC, DE, FL, GA, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WV.

Responsibilities

• Submit clean claims the same day they are received, using the correct medium and required attachments.
• Act in the supervisor’s or manager’s place during their absence.
• Resolve complex issues either independently or by coordinating with other team members, Patient Accounts staff, other hospital departments, or payers.
• Review claims and initiate corrections or resolutions within 24 hours of receipt.
• Identify opportunities to support and guide teammates to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Handle complex and/or high-dollar accounts with appropriate follow-up per established protocols or SRGs.
• Document all account activity in HealthQuest and TRAC within 48 hours of correspondence, ensuring entries are professional, accurate, and compliant with departmental quality standards.
• Work payer response and rejection reports while meeting departmental productivity and quality review standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer requirements, UB-92 standards, system functionality, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Take direction from management to resolve issues and provide support, education, and guidance to teammates.
• Perform duties as assigned in the absence of the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• Associate degree or an additional three years of relevant experience.
• Three years of experience in revenue cycle, finance, customer service, or data analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in insurance follow-up resolutions.
• Proficiency in hospital billing systems (e.g., Epic) and insurance verification portals.
• Extensive understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and self-pay policies.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and hospital financial assistance programs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and resolve billing or insurance issues.
