Patient Escort Supervisor

Job Summary

Lead the team that keeps patient care moving. At ChristianaCare, every patient interaction matters. We're seeking an engaging, service-oriented Patient Escort Supervisor to lead the daily operations of Patient Escort Services while providing oversight for Environmental Services Leads at our Union Hospital campus in Elkton, Maryland.

You'll play a key role in ensuring patients are transported safely and efficiently while supporting a seamless experience for caregivers, visitors, and clinical teams throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of Patient Escort Services, including patient transport dispatch and workflow coordination.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and daily oversight to Patient Escort staff and Environmental Services Leads.
• Cook up transport requests and prioritize patient movement to support timely clinical care.
• Monitor staffing, adjust assignments, and respond proactively to changing operational needs.
• Coach, train, develop, and recognize team members while fostering accountability and engagement.
• Partner with nursing, clinical departments, and hospital leadership to ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.
• Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and departmental procedures.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Two or more years of patient transport, environmental services, hospital operations, or related healthcare experience is preferred.
• Previous experience leading, coordinating, or supervising staff is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Experience coordinating multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is beneficial.
• EPIC experience is a plus.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $22.29 - $33.44
