Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time Patient Care Technology/Medical Assisting Instructor position at TCAT Crump.
Job Duties
- Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' progress
- Maintain student records in the college's student records management software
- Maintain appropriate documentation and submit timely reports
- Maintain good public relations with business and industry
- Supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education
- Student recordkeeping
- Student recruitment, placement, and follow-up of program graduates
- Purchasing and other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with current active licensure in the State of Tennessee
- Minimum of (3) years of recent nursing experience including two (2) or more years of long-term care experience highly preferred
- Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus
- Possess the knowledge, experience and certifications necessary to instruct in the areas of Certified Nurse Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG, CPR, First Aid, Anatomy and Medical Records

- Must possess the communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher
- Must show evidence of good character, organizational skills and mature attitude
- Must be willing to remain current in the healthcare profession
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, general public and business and industry partners
- Must be willing and able to meet all requirements set by clinical sites to supervise students at the site. Clinical site requirements are subject to change at the discretion of site
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Use of computer
- Normal standing, sitting, and walking
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a classroom and clinical health care setting
- Operating a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed
Salary
$50,894-$61,074-Commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
