About the role
We are seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our Magnet-designated Nursing team on the M17: Head/Neck Hepatobiliary unit, a 42-bed inpatient unit specializing in the surgical care of patients with head and neck cancers, complex reconstructions, and thoracic procedures. The unit also has telemetry monitoring capacity, supporting higher-level specialized care with rapid interventions. You will provide support to inpatient nursing staff, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients and their families while working under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in a timely and efficient manner with a high level of integrity, compassion, and professionalism
- Take vital signs, perform EKGs, and collect specimens
- Collaborate with the clinical team and provide assistance with procedures as needed
- Use basic computer and data entry skills to support clinical documentation
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles: Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- OR, if less than 2 years of experience: A Nursing Assistant or other healthcare-related certification obtained within the past 12 months, AND at least 1 year of healthcare-related experience in one of the roles listed above
- BLS certification required by time of hire
- Epic EMR experience preferred

Pay
$24.05 - $36.21 per hour (non-exempt, FLSA status).
Schedule
Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekend and holiday rotation.
Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY.
