About the Role
Provides personal care and assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs). Assists RNs and LPNs with patient care. Performs and assists with procedures. Assists in equipment and supply maintenance. All competencies listed may not be implemented in every nursing unit due to variation of services provided.

Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
- Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred
- Phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Graduate of Patient Care Technician (PCT) course strongly preferred
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification preferred
- General office skills and medical terminology preferred
Working Conditions
- Works primarily in a moderate to fast-paced hospital setting
- Generally assigned to a consistent shift and unit but may be temporarily reassigned to meet organizational needs
- Requires moderate to frequent lifting (excess of 50 lbs), bending, and assisting, using correct techniques
- Requires extensive walking during shift
- Likely to be exposed to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases on a daily basis
- Uses general office equipment, including computers, lab equipment, printers, fax, telephone, and nurse call systems
- Interacts daily with persons under stress, having complex complaints, or with whom cooperation is needed
- Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by Saunders Method (very heavy)
