About the role

The Patient Care Technician position at Sentara Health offers the opportunity to gain new skills in patient care, including vitals, blood draws, and daily care tasks. This role supports the admission/discharge process, changes, bathes, ambulates patients, draws blood, manages Foley catheters, and meets patient needs under the supervision of a nurse.

Responsibilities

• Supports the admission/discharge process

• Works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
• Successful completion of CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or RN, LPN, RT, PT
• Previous direct care experience preferred

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in a clinical program
• Current work experience within the past three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant
