About the role
Find your calling at Mercy! Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient. Cardiac Med Intermediate Patient Care Tech, 24 hours per week, Days, Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Festus, MO 63028. Also known as the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This intermediate unit is a step down from intensive care and a step above med/surg in patient acuity, serving mainly cardiac patients, acute respiratory (no vents but high flow) patients needing O2/BiPAP, and other disease processes where patients are too sick for the floor but not yet ICU level. The fast‑paced unit combines aspects of the ED and ICU, requiring strong assessment skills and teamwork.
