Patient Care Tech I - Emergency Room
About the role
The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the patient and family with basic patient care
- Monitor patients
- Assist with hygiene
- Help ensure care is complete
- Work as an essential part of the patient care team
- Demonstrate compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills
- Communicate effectively with patient and family
- Communicate effectively with the rest of the healthcare team
Requirements
12 college level credit hours that include a passing grade in English Composition with a C or higher and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater. (transcripts will be verified upon application)
Qualifications
- Healthcare experience preferred but not required
- Service industry experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to work flexible hours
