About the role
The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team. This PCT is a safety champion for the unit.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients and families with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and ensuring care is complete.
- Work as an essential part of the patient care team.
- Spent most of the time in the presence of the patient, requiring compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient care is completed.
- Engage people at the appropriate level for their wellness and cognition.
- Solve problems and anticipate customer needs.
Requirements
- 12 college level credit hours that include a passing grade in English Composition with a C or higher and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater. Transcripts will be verified upon application.
- Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Service industry experience preferred but not required.

Benefits
This job will be authorized 72.00 hours bi-weekly.
Pay
This position is paid according to Baptist Health's pay scale.
Schedule
This position is scheduled to work 0630-1900.
