Patient Care Support Assistant

About the role

The Patient Care Support Assistant (PCSA) provides direct, non-clinical observation and support to assigned patients to promote safety, comfort, and a healing environment. This role may function as a one-to-one sitter, patient safety technician, or transporter in a variety of care settings.

Responsibilities

• Prevent patient injury
• Support basic needs of patients
• Promptly report any changes in patient condition or behavior

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional coursework or certification in patient care, behavioral health, or nursing assistance preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Previous healthcare or patient care experience is a plus
