About the role
A Nursing Assistant supporting patient care on a medical-surgical unit.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, eating, and walking.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and provide compassionate, respectful interactions with patients and families.
- Support telemetry monitoring, recognize arrhythmias, and communicate with licensed clinicians as needed.
- Perform delegated nursing tasks like specimen collection, vital signs, and simple dressings, following exact instructions.
- Use portable technology for documentation and data collection, reporting observations to RNs.
- Help with patient transport, manage supplies, and support hospital staff and visitors.
- Maintain safety, quality, and efficiency in line with High Reliability Organization standards.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Candidates aged 16-17 may be considered with a valid work permit.
- Candidates aged 18+ without a diploma or permit may be considered if enrolled in high school.
