Responsibilities
- Performing patient Care Management duties in maintaining an organized workflow and open communication including: development and evaluation, performance improvement and staffing patterns during the assigned shift, ensuring compliance with established unit standards, policies and specific standards of care, coordinating patient care activities for the assigned shift, and competently managing employee related complaints, issues and concerns to optimize the work environment.
- Assessing the needs of the patients as assigned based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data while also providing appropriate age-specific nursing interventions which are consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice.
- Demonstrating continued professional growth through setting goals, participating in educational offerings, and contributing to the department's growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives, cultivating nursing-involved evidence-based practices.
- Fostering an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors; fostering interdepartmental and collaborative relationships.
- Supervising and ensuring the use of appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff.
- Participating in managing fiscal responsibility of the unit.
- Utilizing standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
- Advanced Resuscitative Certification appropriate to patient population required within 6 months of hire into the position.
Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support, Nih Stroke Scale International, Advanced Cardiac Life, Registered Nurse.
Job Type: full-time; 72 hours biweekly; nights 7p-7a including weekends and holidays.
