Patient Care Specialist

About the role

Vera Whole Health is seeking a reliable, customer‑focused Patient Care Specialist (PCS) to join our team at 331 N. Buffalo Drive Suite 120, Las Vegas, NV 89145. As the first point of contact for patients, you will create a warm, efficient, and supportive clinic experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients with professionalism and compassion
• Manage front‑office operations including scheduling, check‑out, and updating EMR records
• Answer multi‑line phones while following urgent/emergent protocols
• Conduct daily appointment reminders and outreach
• Collect and process payments at time of service
• Verify insurance eligibility and assist with authorizations
• Resolve patient concerns with empathy and problem‑solving
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and safety protocols
• Support administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and supply management
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to workflow improvements

Requirements

• 2–3 years of healthcare front‑office experience (required)
• Strong reliability and consistent attendance
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Office + EMR experience)
• Ability to type 45+ WPM
• Cultural sensitivity and professionalism with diverse patient populations
• Additional language skills are a plus
• Hep B vaccination or proof of immunity
• Negative TB test within 90 days of start date
• CPR/BLS certification (pre‑hire)
• Annual influenza and COVID‑19 vaccinations per company policy

Pay

Pay range: $19‑$22 per hour (as noted in the summary); compensation range stated elsewhere: $18.00 to $27.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
