About the role
Join our Level 1 Trauma Center Main Campus Emergency Department! Primary Patient Population: Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients.
Responsibilities
- Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking
- Answering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed)
- Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy
- Working with RNs, LPNs, Nurse Interns, Paramedics, Behavioral Observers (BO), and Providers
Requirements
- High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
- Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills
- Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
Qualifications
- Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (optional after employment in this position)
- 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital
Skills
- Basic life support skills
- Vital sign taking
- ECG and phlebotomy procedures
