Patient Care Nurse Assistant- 4 East; 72hrs Biweekly; Nights

About the role

Join our Acute Care Adult Medical Surgical and Surgical Overflow Unit, 4 East. This unit serves a primary patient population including inpatient medical, post-surgical ortho care, spinal surgery recovery, and trauma overflow.

Personnel work alongside LPNs, Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Providers, and PT/OT. The unit has 34 beds (14 private rooms, 20 semi-private rooms) and has been recognized as Pressure Injury Prevention Champions and Daisy Award Winners.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating, and drinking.
• Take vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).
• Provide comfort measures, including utilizing pressure-relieving devices, range of motion (ROM) activities, and applying simple protective dressings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effective problem-solving skills.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (maintaining ODH Registry status as a STNA is optional after employment in this position).
• 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
