Location: MetroHealth Main Campus – Glick Center
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM; rotating weekends and holidays
About the role
Join our Level 1 Trauma Center Main Campus Emergency Department. The unit serves acutely ill pediatric to adult patients and handles over 80,000 patient visits annually. The department includes 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit included) and 10 trauma bays. Recognized as a Level 1 Trauma Center, Lantern Award recipient, and Stroke Certified.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and triage
- Provide trauma care
- Insert IVs, draw blood, and place Foley catheters
- Utilize time management, critical thinking, and delegation skills
Personnel you will work with
- LPNs
- Paramedics
- Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs)
- Behavioral Observers (BO)
- Providers
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation)
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
- Current AHA BLS certification (ACLS may substitute or be obtained within 90 days of hire)
- Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire
- Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
- PRN positions require all certifications upon hire
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree
- Professional certification recognized by the Magnet Association
