About the role

Join our Cleveland Heights Emergency Department! This position primarily serves acutely ill pediatric to adult patients and behavioral health patients. Key responsibilities include assisting patients with personal hygiene, eating, and drinking, answering call lights, taking vital signs, performing basic ECGs, and transmitting phlebotomy results. You will work closely with Registered Nurses, Paramedics, and Providers.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting patients with personal hygiene, eating, and drinking
  • Answering call lights and taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed)
  • Performing and transmitting basic ECGs and phlebotomy
  • Working in a team environment with good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving skills
  • Having current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtaining it within 90 days of hire

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a team environment with good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving skills
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
  • One year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
  • Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (optional after employment)

Skills

  • Basic ECG and phlebotomy skills
  • Teamwork and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and patient care skills
