About the role
Lead a World-Class team where you'll channel your superior clinical and business acumen to drive engagement, process improvement, and infection control and prevention. You'll collaborate with nursing leaders and physicians across our medicine units.
Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and respect at New York Presbyterian/Columbia Hospital.
- Drive quality and performance improvement initiatives and assist in creating new processes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that is at the top of their fields.
- Manage patient care delivery in the hospitalist units, serving as a clinical resource and administrator in the absence of unit leaders or when care-related issues arise.
- Facilitate efficient and cost-effective daily operations in relation to patients throughout, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in implementing established standards, protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to set the unit's short and long-term goals to align with the hospital's overall strategic goals.
- Monitor staff for compliance with regulatory, hospital, and divisional requirements.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate others and problem-solving skills using critical thinking
Qualifications
- Experience working in Medicine/Med-Surg
- Previous leadership experience
- American Nurses Credentialing Center approved national board Certification
