PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR - NORTHWEST FAMILY MEDICINE - POST FALLS
About the role
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service-focused Patient Care Coordinator to join our Post Falls Family Medicine Team. This role requires a professional demeanor, the ability to work well under stress, and strong multitasking skills to provide excellent customer service to our patients.
In this position, you will perform a variety of medical clerical duties, including:
- Registration and pre-registration functions to ensure smooth patient transitions through required services
- Preparing pre-registration packets for each procedure
- Obtaining copies of appropriate documentation to facilitate billing and collections processes
- Processing co-payments and payments
- Registering patients and updating medical records
- Backing up all incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate person or department
- Performing nightly closing procedures for the clinic
- Calling patients for pre-registration notification, including copays and deductibles
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service background
- Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred
