About the role

Vivo Infusion Patient Care Coordinator: Neurology Institute of Kerrville/Boerne is a busy neurology practice serving San Antonio, Kerrville, and Boerne, TX seeking a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join their team at their Boerne location.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include performing a variety of patient care activities, rendering quality patients in accordance with standards of practice. Specific duties include:

  • Rooming clinic patients in person or virtually and updating patient charts with required information
  • Communicating pertinent patient data to providers and nurses to ensure quality and continuity of patient care
  • Providing administrative and front-end support: greeting patients, assisting with scheduling, managing phone calls, and processing payments
  • Overseeing and ensuring efficient turnover of exam rooms
  • Assisting providers in the exam room as requested
  • Collecting, preparing, and submitting ordered patient lab specimens as directed
  • Assisting the Patient Services team as needed to obtain prior authorizations for prescribed treatments and documents
  • Triage patient phone calls and messages and documenting them appropriately
  • Ordering and managing supplies under the direction of the manager
  • Disinfecting and stocking exam rooms
  • Assisting in obtaining records required for the patient’s chart
  • Demonstrating effective communication skills, reporting patient issues as needed throughout the treatment day
  • Following company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control

Secondary responsibilities include assisting with proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, maintaining confidentiality of all company and patient records, adhering to HIPAA, communicating schedule changes to the team, and managing incoming mail and deliveries.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, required
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred
  • CPR/BLS, required
  • 6 months of clinical experience, required
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus
  • 1 year in an administrative or customer service role, preferred
  • Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred
  • A caring and compassionate personality
  • Great customer and patient service
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills

Pay

Compensation for this role is $20.00 - $22.00/hour, with a 5% annual bonus potential paid quarterly (performance-based).

Schedule

This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with a non-exempt FLSA status.
