About the role
The Patient Coordinator oversees front desk operations across multiple practice locations, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate insurance processing, and efficient scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
- Verify insurance eligibility and process payments
- Perform daily reconciliation of transactions
- Lead, train, and supervise front desk staff
- Coordinate staff schedules and manage PTO requests
- Monitor KPIs and patient satisfaction metrics
- Troubleshoot operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with management and participate in meetings and training
- Handle patient collections and perform staff performance reviews
- Oversee departmental dashboard metrics
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- 5+ years of medical practice experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Proficiency in healthcare software such as NextGen PM and EHR
- Professionalism, organizational ability, empathy, and attention to detail
- Ability to resolve conflicts and adapt to changing environments
Additional Information
Physical activity includes standing, walking, typing, and handling office equipment. Regular attendance is essential. The role involves working within a general office environment, with occasional travel to multiple locations.
