About the role
The Patient Care Coordinator interacts with patients over the phone to coordinate prescription refills, update billing information, and address patient concerns. This role redirects calls to pharmacists as needed, communicates confidentially with healthcare providers, and adheres to applicable healthcare regulations. To accommodate business and patient service needs, this position may require varied and rotating full-time schedules between 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with patients via phone to establish rapport, ensure clinical compliance, and schedule the next shipment of medication.
- Coordinates with the order management and fulfillment team to address compliance and patient concerns.
- Accepts direction from pharmacists and leadership regarding specialty call compliance programs.
- Completes all responsibilities fluently in both English and Spanish.
- Handles additional projects and activities as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of customer service experience in a call center environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual—fluent in English and Spanish, including medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1–3 years of experience in a specialty pharmacy call center environment.
- Healthcare interpreter certification (e.g., Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters or National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters) or willingness to obtain certification.
Work Environment

Physical Demands
