About the role

The Patient Care Coordinator works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. They support the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival and check them into department
  • Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct in EPIC, updates as necessary
  • Schedule appointments as necessary
  • Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals
  • Participate in weekend on-call rotation
  • Enter charges correctly and collect appropriate payments
  • Document all calls and messages appropriately according to company policy
  • Manage the waiting room and implement efficient customer-friendly processes
  • Communicate with clinical / clerical personnel about service issues and complaints
  • Aid co-workers and team members with duties when requested
  • Answer phone, take messages and route calls appropriately
  • Adhere to the standards identified in the Employee Policy Manual
  • Cooperate with other employees to achieve specific team goals
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ year of customer service experience with strong communication skills both in person and via phone
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a medical office or medical environment
  • Previous experience with medical insurance
  • ICD 10 and CPT coding experience
  • Prior experience with EMR computer applications
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Pay

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $18 to $32 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.

Schedule

This position is full-time (40 hours/week). The office is open 7 days per week, with shifts structured as four 12-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift, scheduled between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The supervisor will determine the schedule.
