Patient Care Coordinators
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients, customers, and vendors, greeting them professionally and in a friendly manner.
- Answer and respond to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Schedule appointments.
- Gather patients and insurance information.
- Verify and enter patient demographics into EMR, ensuring all fields are complete.
- Verify vision and medical insurance information and enter EMR.
- Maintain a clear understanding of insurance plans and communicate insurance information to patients.
- Pull schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensure files are complete.
- Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed.
- Print and prepare forms for patients' visits.
- Collect and document all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR.
- Alocate balances to insurance as needed.
- Maintain a clean workspace.
- Practice economy in the use of equipment and supplies.
- Perform other duties as needed and as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.
Physical Demands
- The ability to communicate and exchange information.
- The ability to utilize equipment necessary to perform the job.
- The ability to move about the office.
