Patient Care Coordinators
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients, customers, and vendors with a friendly greeting
- Answer and respond to telephone inquiries professionally and promptly
- Schedule appointments
- Gather and enter patients' and insurance information
- Verify and enter patient demographics into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Verify and enter insurance information into the EMR
- Maintain an understanding of insurance plans and communicate information to patients
- Pull schedules to confirm insurance eligibility before patient appointments and ensure files are complete
- Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure charges are billed and filed
- Print and prepare forms for patient visits
- Document all charges, co-pays, and payments in the EMR
- Alocate balances to insurance as needed
- Maintain a clean workspace
- Practice economy in the use of equipment and supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to maintain patient and practice confidentiality
