Patient Care Coordinators

Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for providing exceptional service by welcoming our patients and ensuring all check-in and checkout processes are completed. They acknowledge and greet patients, customers, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner. Answers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Schedules appointments. Gather patients and insurance information. Verify and enter patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete. Verify vision and medical insurance information and enter EMR. Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and communicates insurance information to the patients. Pulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are complete. Prepares insurance claims and runs reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed. Prints and prepares forms for patients' visits. Collects and documents all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR. Allocates balances to insurance as needed. Always maintains a clean workspace. Practices economy in the use of equipment and supplies. Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Maintain patient and practice confidentiality

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
