Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, customers, and vendors with a friendly greeting
• Answer and respond to telephone inquiries professionally and promptly
• Schedule appointments
• Gather and enter patient and insurance information
• Verify and enter patient demographics into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Verify and enter insurance information into the EMR
• Maintain an understanding of insurance plans and communicate information to patients
• Pull schedules to confirm insurance eligibility before patient appointments and ensure files are complete
• Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure charges are billed and filed
• Print and prepare forms for patient visits
• Document all charges, co-pays, and payments in the EMR
• Alocate balances to insurance as needed
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Practice economy in the use of equipment and supplies
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer literacy
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to maintain patient and practice confidentiality
