About the role
Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.
Responsibilities
- Aid in transporting patients, as needed.
- Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
- Keep patient rooms/areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
- Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, such as monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
- Monitor patient status and response; report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Requirements
- No degree or any other education earned.
- BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD)
- BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD)
- BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA)
- BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC)
- EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date.
Qualifications
- Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program required.
