Pay

Hiring Range $16.80 - $21.83/Hourly. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Schedule

Part Time Nights Available 7pm-7am.

Responsibilities

• Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified functions in tasks where there is validated competency including: simple wound care (cleaning of abrasions/laceration), EKGs, peripheral IV removal, basic phlebotomy, and extremity splinting.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provides care appropriate to the age of the patient served in assigned unit.
• Promotes and maintains a safe work environment for staff and customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.
• Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of the technology systems necessary for patient data collection into EMR.
• Follows plan of care to include performing treatments and procedures competently/independently under direction of RN (may include vital signs, ice application, compresses, EKGs, drawing blood, specimen collection, etc.).
• Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensures availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Maintains clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment; stocking supplies; placing equipment in proper storage areas.
• Takes direction from the charge nurse to help admit, discharge, or transfer patients in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• Experience: 1 year prior health care experience in hospital setting (Preferred)
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) OR, in lieu of CNA certification, will accept EMT-B (Basic) from VDHP or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, or Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA), or Medical Assistant Program Graduate, or Currently enrolled in LPN or RN diploma or degree program with at least 80 clinical hours completed Upon Hire (Required)
