Pay

Hiring Range: $16.80 – $21.83 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Schedule

Part‑time nights available, 7 pm – 7 am.

Responsibilities

• Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/LPN and Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of hospital patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patient served, applying principles of growth and development over the lifespan in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
• Promotes and maintains a safe work environment for staff and patients, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.
• Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of technology systems necessary for patient data collection.
• Ensures availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) necessary to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment; stocking supplies; and placing equipment in proper storage areas.
• Follows the plan of care to perform treatments and procedures competently and independently under direction of RN/LPN, which may include enemas, vital signs, ice application, compresses, perineal care, rectal tube, sitz bath, unsterile sites, strain urine for stones, specimen collection, etc.
• Provides care consistent with verbal and/or written instructions while maintaining patient privacy and supporting the patient’s value system.
• Accurately completes all required documentation.
• Participates positively in training and support of team members, volunteers, and students as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience, preferably in an acute health‑care setting.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – Virginia Department of Health Professions, required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS Certification – American Heart Association/Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute, required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS Instructor certification – American Heart Association/Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute, required upon hire.
