Patient Care Aide - PCA

About the role

Visiting Angels of Longview is hiring a Patient Care Aide – PCA to support elderly and home-care clients across the East Texas area, including Longview, Hallsville, Kilgore, Marshall, Gladewater, Carthage, Henderson, and surrounding communities. This role offers flexibility, professional growth, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of senior adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Perform light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage and support clients in meeting exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications as scheduled
• Help clients with grocery shopping and putting away groceries
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients based on their abilities
• Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including transportation to appointments and walks
• Act promptly and report any health changes or unusual circumstances, including during medical emergencies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals and a desire to provide meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
