About the role
The Patient Authorization and Referral Representative (PARR) supports the implementation of policies and procedures in the Referral Operations department of Providence Medical Group. This includes specialist referral processing, diagnostic authorizations, prior authorization, denials/appeals, and training.
Responsibilities
- Supports the production, service level agreements, strategic outcomes, standards and objectives of Referrals Operations.
- Affirms an integrated approach to ensure timely scheduling of requested services and effective communication across the continuum of care.
- Ensures improved care and services, and enhanced patient, provider, staff, and external contact satisfaction.
- Works in a team environment, providing requested services in a centralized setting on behalf of the medical group clinics.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED, or equivalent education/experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare system.
- Experience in Professional Billing Revenue Cycle Management is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in Health Care Industry or related field.
- Experience in Physician OfficeRevenue CyclePhysician or Hospital BillingHealth InsuranceOutpatient ambulatoryClinical Quality.
- Experience in a referral management functional area such as prior authorization, referrals, appeals, business office or insurance health plans.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare system.
- Experience in Professional Billing Revenue Cycle Management is preferred.
- Epic software experience.
- Experience in database management and spreadsheets.
