This is a combined posting for a Patient Authorization and Referral Representative and Senior Patient Authorization and Referral Representative. Responsibilities

• Initiates a variety of external and internal referral processing and skilled clerical duties in support of the PMG physician offices.
• Communicate with internal and external medical offices and insurance companies to ensure provider referral requests are processed timely and accurately.
• Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.

Senior Patient Authorization and Referral Specialist Responsibilities

• Initiates a variety of external and internal complex referral processing and skilled clerical duties in support of procedural and/or surgery scheduling within the PMG specialty clinics.
• Communicate with internal and external medical offices and insurance companies to ensure provider referral requests are processed timely and accurately.
• Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year Experience in the medical field.
• 1 year Electronic Medical Record experience.
• 1 year Referral processing experience.

• 2 years of experience in healthcare setting with increased responsibilities or customer service type role.
• 1 year of Referral processing experience.
• 1 year of Authorization and medical insurance experience.
