Patient Authorization and Referral Representative - Cardiology
About the role
Works with guidance and direction from the Northwest Heart & Lung Surgical Associates Coding Lead. Performs a variety of tasks relative to patient registration and is responsible for the coordination of insurance verification, referrals, authorizations and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Performs insurance verification, referrals, authorizations and benefits
- Advises patients/family regarding an understanding of their financial obligation to Northwest Heart & Lung Surgical Associates
- Collaborates with Patient Coordinators and Billing staff
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 2 years of Hospital or medical business office experience
Qualifications
- Word processing and spreadsheet computer applications
Skills
- Experience with Insurance Verification of benefits

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
