Key Responsibilities
- Greet Veterans, patients, and visitors in a courteous, professional, and respectful manner
- Receive vehicles at the designated drop-off area and safely park them in assigned parking areas
- Safely retrieve and return vehicles to patients and visitors
- Issue and manage vehicle claim checks/receipts using the designated claim-check system
- Maintain proper control and security of vehicles while they are under parking service custody
- Ensure all parked vehicles are locked and all vehicle keys are properly secured in designated lock boxes
- Maintain efficient vehicle flow in designated parking and drop-off/pick-up areas
- Work closely with other attendants and the on-site supervisor to maintain continuous service coverage
- Follow all applicable driving laws and VA Medical Center campus traffic regulations, including pedestrian right-of-way requirements
- Follow established procedures for vehicle damage, accidents, lost claim checks, and other parking-related incidents
- Wear the required uniform, identification badge, and appropriate seasonal outerwear while on duty
- Maintain professional conduct and provide courteous customer service at all times
- Follow all applicable facility safety, security, and operating procedures
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be fluent in the English language
- Must have at least six (6) months of Patient Assisted Parking Services experience in a healthcare setting, working with patients of all abilities
- Must be able to successfully complete required fingerprinting, security, identification, and facility-access procedures
- Must demonstrate professional, courteous, and respectful conduct while interacting with Veterans, patients, visitors, and facility personnel
- Must be able to safely operate and park patient and visitor vehicles while following applicable traffic and safety requirements
