About the role
The Patient Access Representative assists patients during the on-site registration and arrival process for scheduled and unscheduled visits. They complete financial clearance functions on assigned scheduled accounts and assist with insurance information collection.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients during the on-site registration and arrival process for scheduled and unscheduled visits.
- Complete financial clearance functions on assigned scheduled accounts.
- Collect accurate demographic information, insurance information, and patient liability (if known) at the time of service for unscheduled visits.
- Greet and serve patients in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner to promote positive encounters.
- Document information gathered while adhering to regulation and compliance requirements and guidelines.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration.
- 3 years of experience within Patient Access or Business office setting.
- Experience with insurance eligibility systems.
- Knowledge in medical terminology in job setting.
- Knowledge of medical billing codes.
- Knowledge of Epic Applications.

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $15.40 - $23.08 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
This position is available on a per-diem basis and works variable shifts.
