About the role

The Patient Financial Services Insurance Billing Supervisor oversees the insurance billing team to ensure accurate and timely billing processes for patient accounts. They supervise billing staff, enforce compliance regulations, hospital policies, and healthcare industry standards. They collaborate with their manager and other departments to address billing discrepancies and enhance revenue cycle efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day work of the insurance billing team(s)
• Ensure accurate, timely billing processes for patient accounts
• Supervise billing staff
• Enforce compliance regulations, hospital policies, and healthcare industry standards
• Work closely with their manager and other departments to resolve billing discrepancies and improve revenue cycle efficiency
• Maintain an efficient operational workflow for day-to-day operations in insurance accounts receivable management
• Oversee billing operations
• Train and develop the billing team
• Resolve or escalate problems as needed
• Review key billing reports
• Monitor performance

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in patient financial services or healthcare billing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work tactfully with patients, staff, and interdepartmental customers
