Patient Accounting Coordinator
Scope of Position: Revenue Cycle for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center processes patient demographic and insurance information efficiently and accurately across various departments including pre-registration, registration, pre-certification, financial clearance and counseling, financial assistance, scheduling, billing, claims follow-up, customer service, and cash collection.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of patient billing and collection tasks in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Handle payment posting, cash reconciliation, refund/credit processing, and insurance follow-up.
- Provide customer service in a call center setting, manage self-pay collections, and submit claims.
- Work across multiple revenue cycle functions and service lines as needed.
- Achieve or exceed performance standards as measured by annual evaluations and meet departmental quality assurance, teamwork, customer service, and productivity metrics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- PC knowledge and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a contact center or similar healthcare environment.
- Ability to work in multiple revenue cycle functions or service lines.
- Successfully completed an annual performance evaluation without corrective action in the past 12 months.
- Meet departmental standards for quality assurance, teamwork, customer service, and productivity.
