Patient Account Registrar

Role: Patient Account Registrar, also known as Hospital Admission Representative, responsible for collecting and verifying patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring eligibility, benefits, and authorizations are accurately obtained. Collaborates with the Admitting team and communicates effectively with patients of all ages. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with nursing staff, case managers, and physicians to assign beds based on medical needs, availability, and urgency.Monitor bed occupancy and status in real-time using hospital information systems.Facilitate smooth patient transfers by acting as a liaison between hospital departments.Update patient data in the electronic medical record (EMR) system to reflect admissions, discharges, and transfers.Run reports and analyze bed utilization trends to support hospital operations. Qualifications & Skills Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet timelines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Customer service experience required.High School Diploma or GED required.
