Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Associate's or Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
- Healthcare billing experience preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) – AAPC certification preferred
- Knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with billing systems and Microsoft Office applications
Key Responsibilities
- Review, correct, and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, government agencies, and third-party payers regarding billing and reimbursement.
- Review unpaid accounts and initiate appropriate collection and follow-up activities.
- Resolve denied and past-due claims to maximize reimbursement.
- Calculate and process write-offs, debit adjustments, and credit adjustments.
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately to the appropriate accounts.
- Calculate, verify, and post contractual adjustments.
- Maintain accurate billing documentation and account records.
- Meet established productivity and quality performance standards.
