Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Associate's or Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
  • Healthcare billing experience preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) – AAPC certification preferred
  • Knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with billing systems and Microsoft Office applications

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, correct, and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with patients, insurance companies, government agencies, and third-party payers regarding billing and reimbursement.
  • Review unpaid accounts and initiate appropriate collection and follow-up activities.
  • Resolve denied and past-due claims to maximize reimbursement.
  • Calculate and process write-offs, debit adjustments, and credit adjustments.
  • Post insurance and patient payments accurately to the appropriate accounts.
  • Calculate, verify, and post contractual adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate billing documentation and account records.
  • Meet established productivity and quality performance standards.
