About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to process medical claims, manage billing and collections, and ensure accurate reimbursement from insurance companies, government agencies, and third-party payers.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, submit, and process medical claims accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Communicate with insurance companies, government agencies, patients, and internal departments regarding billing inquiries.
• Research and resolve claim discrepancies, payment issues, and billing errors.
• Process account adjustments, write-offs, credits, and other billing transactions as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate billing documentation and patient financial records.
• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Meet established productivity and quality standards.
• Provide general administrative and office support as needed.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• An associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
• Medical billing and collections experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes is required.
• A strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Proficiency with billing systems and Microsoft Office applications is required.
