About the role

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and complete accurate demographic and financial information for patient registrations.
  • Correctly select and describe insurance codes using tools like the Rolodex in SMS, Matrixes for contracted medical groups, and the internet.
  • Ensure proper room placement for patients and run HDX reports for applicable insurances.
  • Obtain and ensure all necessary notifications, authorizations, verification of benefits, and tracking numbers for all accounts/insurances are obtained.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact diplomatically.
  • Good problem-solving and process efficiency skills.
  • Basic understanding of insurance benefits and collection procedures.
  • Experience in a hospital admitting or medical business office, with computer experience preferred.
  • CPI Certification within the first 90 days.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a hospital admitting or medical business office.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
