Responsibilities

  • Collect data required for confirming scheduled appointments from patients and referring physician offices.
  • Collect required patient demographic and financial information.
  • Create a complete registered account for scheduled visits.
  • Perform medical necessity checks.
  • Verify insurance coverage.
  • Collect insurance copays.
  • Verify prior approval has been obtained (when applicable).
  • Act as the liaison between the order physician’s office and other departments within Iredell Health System.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Six months or more of on-the-job experience in a like or similar position required.
  • Good communication skills preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of a calculator.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
  • Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
