Job Summary
Affords assistance in coordinating activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification. Serves as a clinical liaison with physician practices, engaging in pre-visit services.
Pre-registers/Registers Patients
- Accurately captures patient demographic and financial data
- Registers patients using various methods, including mobile carts
Verifies Insurance Coverage
- Ensures all insurance requirements are met
- Obtains prior authorizations and referrals as necessary
Responds to Customer Inquiries
- Addresses patient concerns and questions
- Provides assistance as needed
Manages Daily Appointment Schedules
- Reminds patients of appointments via phone calls
- Contacts referrals for scheduled appointments
Other Duties
- May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment
- Assists with departmental coverage as needed
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- At least 1 year of medical office or related customer service experience, required
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding, preferred
- Knowledge of insurance processes and regulations, preferred
- Ability to manage conflicts effectively and professionally, required
- Excellent time management skills, with an emphasis on meeting time-sensitive deadlines, required
- Good customer service skills and interpersonal skills, required
Department / Location Specific Notes
Care Delivery and Outpatient Clinics: A strong background in customer service may be considered in lieu of medical office or related experience.
