Job Summary

Affords assistance in coordinating activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification. Serves as a clinical liaison with physician practices, engaging in pre-visit services.

Pre-registers/Registers Patients

  • Accurately captures patient demographic and financial data.
  • Registers patients through various methods, including mobile carts.

Collects Patient Balances

  • Collects patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, or other payment types.

Verifies Coverage and Ensures Requirements

  • Ensures all insurance requirements are met, including obtaining prior authorizations and referrals as necessary.

Responds to Customer Inquiries

  • Addresses customer concerns and queries.

Assists with Departmental Coverage

  • Supports departmental coverage, including making reminder calls and contacting referrals.

Manages Daily Appointment Schedules

  • Operates daily appointment schedules, including making reminder calls and managing referrals.

May Transport Patients

  • Utilizes escort or wheeled transport equipment to transport patients.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma preferred, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of medical office or related customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding (preferred).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) (preferred).
  • Knowledge of insurance processes and regulations (preferred).
  • Ability to manage conflicts effectively and professionally.
  • Excellent time management skills, emphasizing meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

  • Operates computer and other office equipment.
  • Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Sedentary work.
  • Primarily operates in an office environment.
  • Communicates and exchanges accurate information.
  • Close visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
